Our production is certified by CCPAE «Consell Català de la Producció Agrària Ecològica».

Organic production processes


Hawo Fruits Spain crop field are different in type of soils between them. This allows us to have different crops that each require a type of soil. Our area has a Mediterranean climate, which means that winters are mild and summers are hot. The average annual temperature slightly exceeds 16 ºC and the precipitation barely reaches 500 mm. This allows us to have productions with high quality and performance.

Our production is certified by Consell Català de la Producció Agrària Ecològica which is the supervisory authority institution for organic farming in Catalonia. This institution guarantees that products are produced and processed according to organic farming regulations. So all our products are perfectly controlled during their process of production, packaging and sale.

We only work on organic farming according to its philosophy production. Our products are free fertilizer cultivated withoutany chemical pesticide (fungicides, insecticides or herbicides), therefore, no residues of these substances. We only use organic fertilizers and natural minerals and limited nitrogen fertilization. We based our control farming on preventive methods with natural fertilizers as required by our organic farming regulations.

We work under the social regulation of Global Gap and Grasp. Global Gap is a rule based on a sustainable food production implemented among companies. And GRASP is a certification about Risk Assessment on Social Practices, which includes health and welfare for workers.

We have a wide variety of products on our farms: cauliflower, broccoli, fennel, lettuce, endive, leek, hot peppers, buds. We work to obtain the highest performance with a high quality in our products, using innovative agronomic techniques and always respecting the environment.

Our work philosophy consists of having an exhaustive control to direct the movement of the production to have the highest possible quality, controlling the entire production cycle at each stage: from the production of the raw material, storage and packaging, the dispatch of the final product. Our organic products are made using techniques that minimize forms of contamination and quality losses, restricting the use of additives and technological aids.

Our traceability system guarantees that we have all the information about our product at all times.
